Sewing

This is me and my friend 'G' on Saturday.
The ladies at church have gotten together a couple times over the summer to make
jumpers for a couple from the church who are going to Sierra Leone as missionaries in
November. The jumpers are for them to just give to the children there. It has been a
fun project to work on. My mom is making shorts for the boys. (over 200 pairs) She is putting pockets on them that have the colors of the Wordless Book.
I have sewn MANY strips together for her.
There are a couple ladies at church who are helping her cut them out and put the drawstring through. Mom has been having fun, and other ladies, too.
"G" and I had fun on Saturday. She is using my serger.
Could this be my first sewing student??
We did a lot of laughing. A lot of laughing at our moms. (smiling)

but a broken spirit drieth the bones."

Bowling, Sorting and Packing

Today, my family and I took the morning and went bowling.

Todd looks a little dazed.
He is really tired from a long Sunday.
Bear putting his new ball next to Mom's smiling ball.

Here I am with my new Orange Ball that Todd
gave me for my birthday. I really like it.

This afternoon, I have worked on sorting things in my room.
I thought while I have it all out, I would take a few pics of my flatware and china,
and then I would pack it away, again. (smiling)
I like the way the flatware looks with my china.
I am glad that my mom found this flatware for me,
and that my parents and Todd gave me 12 place settings.
I can have a western party now!

This is my last week before I start back to Bible School.
I got my class assignments yesterday, and I am
working on getting enough sleep this week to get me through December.
hmm??
I am looking forward to Bible school again. I have learned a lot, and there is always so much more about the BIBLE to learn!

We live 60 miles from our church.
On Sundays, we spent the entire day in DeLand.
There are many church activities to keep us very busy.
Every Sunday our family works with a nursing home ministry.
This past week, Carla and I played our flutes. The younger children
stayed up in front with us, and sang while we played. It was cute.
We enjoy this ministry!

Cake and brothers....

Todd's objective in bowling is how fast he can throw the ball down the lane.
Let's just say that he can throw it a whole lot faster than the rest of us.
However, he is not as accurate as he could be! :)
Bear made a strike.
He is getting much better with his bowling.

My candle loaded cake!

No longer a teen.....

On Tuesday, August 11, I left my teen years behind! While I enjoyed each of those 'teen' years in my life, I detested being lumped in with the 'traditional' teen assumptions. My heart's desire has been to be the child that GOD wanted me to be.

The Bible tells children to be obedient to their parents
Ephesians 6:1-3
"Children obey your parents in the LORD: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth."

to trust in the LORD
Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

to be an example, that would be one that honors GOD and my parents
I Timothy 4:12
"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in coversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

to conform to GOD and not to this world
Romans 12:1-2
" I Beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect, will of God."

I like monkeys, even a gift wrapped in a monkey.
A new pair of boots!!
Actually, they are untensil holders.
Me and Bear.

Me and Todd, and his gift to me.

My very own ORANGE bowling ball!
Todd gave me the ball, bag and shoes for my birthday.
I love to bowl
My family and I went bowling on Monday morning.
I won the first game, and my mom won the second.
It must have been the 'girls' day'!
I am looking forward to my 20's and what GOD has in store for me!

His ways are always perfect!

Annual Water Balloon Fight

Once a year, my mother finds that she has nothing to do. So she enlists the help of Bear, and sometimes my dad, to help her fill water balloons. Today was one of those days. While Todd and I were out slaving in the Hot Florida Heat and Humidity, Mom was filling water balloons in the comfort of her Air Conditioned Kitchen, complete with lovely music.

A phone call from mom tipped us off that she was up to something. I knew it was going to be wet.

An ammunition box placed in the front yard.
A guilty brother with another bowl of ammunition.

I think he is excited.

Mom catches the victims arriving.
Did I mention we worked really hard today??
We did. :)

Annual Water Balloon Fight Pt 2

Todd and I arriving home.
We have anticipated trouble.

I know what is coming.....

Water balloons away....

Todd trying out his fast ball.
But, Bear bearing the brunt of water balloons.
A nice way to end a very hot Florida summer work day!
