The day after Thanksgiving

Psalm 107:1

O give thanks unto the LORD,
for he is good:
for his mercy endureth for ever.

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Great is thy faithfulness,
O, God, my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.

Thou changest not:
Thy compassions they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Great is thy faithfulness!
Great is thy Faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided.
Great is thy faithfulness, LORD unto me!

I spent Thanksgiving day in bed. I have the flu :( Bear and I didn't eat anything, we left that to mom, dad and Todd. Mom says we have enough food for several days. They are eating leftovers, but that is ok! We love leftovers here!

Today, I worked on some Christmas presents I am making. Otherwise, I have been bonding with my bed.

Tomorrow is....

My Dad's Birthday!!

This is my dad at his favorite restaurant.
Happy Birthday, Dad...

WE GOT HIM A CAKE!!!

(he is used to this)

Yes, this is my dad's traditional Birthday cake
A TURKEY.
I finally got my dad's birthday gift on Saturday,
he almost discovered it later that day.
OH, well!
We will celebrate tomorrow.
This starts a month of celebrating for us.
My dad's birthday is 11/25
my mom's birthday is 12/1
their anniversary is 12/19
(we love their anniversary,
we always have Pizza somewhere!)
and then Christmas is 12/25
That makes a full month of celebrating here.

My mom's picture of me

I was taking a picture of an old fire suit on the wall.
My mom was behind me taking a picture of me.
She says she thought I was getting ideas for a new kitchen experiment. LOL
I am known as the 'FLAMING MITT' here.
Lets just say, I had a 'flaming experience' in the kitchen one time
that involved an oven mitt. :o
Maybe one day I will publish a recipe book called:
"COOKING WITH THE FLAMING MITT"
;)

Things you find at a CAR MUSEUM

My family and I took a couple days and went on a
'mini' vacation. One of our stops was to the
Don Garlit's Drag Racing and Car Museum.
A car that once belonged to President Eisenhower.
A baby stroller, I liked it!

A 'funny' car.

My mom liked this one, with the man waving.
It reminds her of when my dad wanted to drag race.

My brothers liked this one.

My mother was happy to see a car museum
with some of her FAVORITE THINGS in it!
We have 7 sewing machines here,
but none like this one!

An old gas pump,
I think the price was 39 cents a gallon on this one.

An orange Pony Car! :)
I like this one!

My view from the backseat

That is me

on our recent
road trip.

Some of my Favorite Things

This is a small selection of my hats.
I LOVE hats.
When I was a baby, my mom would smock
bonnets for me to wear to church.
She would tie them on me
and I would wear them the entire time I was at church.
Then she bought me little hats to wear,
and I LOVED to wear them.
I have quite a few hats..too many to count.
My favorite hat is my brown Stetson.
These are my 'fat Babies'.
They are tan and brown,
and they are comfy to wear!

My PINK BOOTS and PINK HAT.
My mom wanted me to have pink boots,
I wanted Pink boots, too!

Here is a grouping of my boots and hats. :)

I get a lot of wear out of my Black boots and hats,
especially during the winter months.

These are my tan suede boots.
They are the first pair of boots
I bought for myself.

These boots were a gift from my parents for my birthday one year.
That is my brown Stetson hat.
I really LOVE that hat!

Endeavour is UP

We had a full moon tonight.

This is our first view of the shuttle as it lifts off.

We can see it a little better now.

Endeavour on its way to the ISS.
Another successful launch from our corner of the world.

Quick Post Thursday

We have had a busy week this week. I am not sure what all we have done. It just seemed busy.

Tomorrow we are looking forward to a Shuttle Launch. We live on the East Coast of Florida where the Space Shuttle lifts off from. My father works at the Kennedy Space Center. He will get to see the launch from work tomorrow. My mother, Todd, Bear and I will watch from our front yard. I will take some pictures. A night time launch is really pretty!

I am tired tonight. Something that God reminded me of today is that I need to be willing to speak to people instead of being quiet and shy. I am not really shy, I just have a hard time thinking of things to say. I desire to speak, so that I can speak of Christ.

Thought of the day

First off I have a Question, I was wondering what songs you sang at Church yesterday?
We sang:
I Love to Tell the Story,
The Bible Stands,
Sound the Battle Cry,
and I forgot the others:)

Sound the Battle Cry is one of my and Bear's favorite songs.

The other day I was reading Psalm 107 and verse 8 stood out.

Psalm 107:8
Oh that men would praise the Lord
for his goodness and his wonderful works
to the children of men.

This verse made me stop and think . Something which I don't always do very well:) (I am a natural Blonde, although I call my hair 'golden') My thought was that I often take for granted God's wonderful works. The Lord has done so much for me, yet I don't praise Him for His goodness.

There have been times where it was hard to see His wonderful works or consider what was going on as wonderful, but looking back I see his goodness to me. I can praise Him for His wonderful works to the children of men.

By the way,I think that must be an important verse , because it is repeated 3 more times in that Psalm. (vs 15,21, 31)

Praising the LORD today!

Our Family is talented!!

Our family has some unusual talents. From time to time I will share them in my blog.

This is my Brother, Bear. He discovered that he can get his juice bag to stick to his lip with the straw. Amazing, just amazing!

Florida Fall

Hi!
This is me and my friend Patrick. My brother picked him along with some pumpkins for our mother's FALL YARD ART. In Florida, you have to make your own fall. My mother and I have Fall Jumpers that we make and wear. It makes us feel like it is fallish here, even though it stays warm here.
Today, I went to my 6 month dental cleaning. My mother insists that is a necessary part of life. My younger brother got the better dental score today. He was quite proud of that. I have no cavities or filling in my teeth, I am hoping to keep that trend going. I still wear my retainer faithfully, the dental hygienist says she can tell I wear it.
My brother, Todd, isn't feeling well today. So he used one of his SICK DAYS after our trip to the dentist. While he slept, my mother and I were able to do her Thursday shopping together. She usually goes with Bear. We went to Target, we found something really cool that my brother Todd has been wanting. My mom bought it for him for Christmas. We saw Patty at the snack shop. We each got an ICEE and shared a pepperoni pan pizza. The pepperoni were crispy, I think I like them that way!
Then we went to Walmart, we picked up some apple cider, cold medicene, a Miami Dolphin shirt for Bear, some food items, and light bulbs for our bathroom. They are strange lightbulbs.
Next was Publix, they have a lot of BOGO that my mom likes to get. She also gets Barnes and Noble Gift cards there. I found Rice for her. I am quite helpful. I knew she needed 40 pounds of rice for $14 :)
We stopped at CVS last to pick up milk and some sodas. It took us 3 hours to shop and gaze. Sometimes it takes my mom and Bear much longer because my mom can talk....and talk.. and talk. But that is when she goes at her normal times, and sees her friends.
BUT when we got home, OH the fun began. Our family does the Nielson Homescan on things we buy at the store. Everything with a barcode we buy is scanned, the cost recorded, and then once a week my mom transmits the information. It is interesting! LOL :)
With Todd being sick, we did not mow today. Friday and Saturday should be a little busy for us. But thankfully, the weather is soooooooo much nicer than the weather in August was!
Today in my Bible I read Ezekiel 44.

Since I typed last.....

I can't believe it is already November. The grass in Florida grows still in November. My brother Todd and I are still busy with lawn care. I am looking forward to when the grass will stop growing so quickly.
I am excited to be voting in my first Presidential Election tomorrow.
We are going to go early to vote, and then to go out for breakfast.
I will try and stay up to watch the election returns. But I like to go to bed early, so that I can get up early. Hopefully, Wednesday will not be a busy day for mowing.
