Monday's Musings

These are my two rakes.
I like a metal rake, not the plastic ones
that my brother likes.
This is my favorite rake,
although it is missing much!

Today, I have a new love!

A rake with all its parts!!

Todd gave me a new rake for His Birthday.
I am very happy with it!!
When Todd and I were very small, my mom
noticed that each of us would pout at each other's birthdays
Seemed we wanted a present, too.
She decided to start something to help us with the
selfish 'ME MEs' on our birthdays.
The birthday person at our house,
gives a gift to the other family members.
This has been a lot of fun for us,
and has taught us to enjoy giving to others.
It is funny sometimes to hear one of us say,
"I have to get ( someone's name) something for my birthday."
:)
It works here!
Birthdays are very special in our family.

Friday Photos

It was TIME for a haircut.
Today was the day!
I was VERY HAPPY to
have my hair cut today.
I have a lot of hair,
but it is very fine, and has no body.
It just tends to hang, and in the summer
sticks to me.

She is getting started.

She is done!
I am happy.
I generally, just let mom and my hair stylist
do what they want with me, and I always love it.

I am ready for the FLORIDA summer now.....
or my hair is! :)

OPEN HOUSE

Every few years, the Kennedy Space Center has an
OPEN HOUSE for the families of the employees.
We are always excited to go out and see where DAD works!
This is the road he takes every day to work.
This is ATLANTIS on the Launch pad.
It will be the next shuttle launched.
Right now there are 2 shuttles out on the pads,
which is a little unusual. It will probably be the LAST TIME
that will happen. It was neat to see.

Another view of ATLANTIS

one of the 'crawlers' that carry the shuttles
to and sometimes from the pads.

This is ENDEAVOR on the other launch pad.
My dad has special feelings for ENDEAVOR.
He worked on this one when it came to the Space center
before it had flown in space. His fingerprints have flown in Space.

Bear with the STARFIGHTER
Todd, Bear and me with 4 of the
astronauts from the last shuttle mission.

My dad had to go somewhere, and left me with the KEYS!
Does he realize what happens to me when I drive the car at an
AIRPORT?
TIME FOR TAKEOFF!

:)

Mom wanted a pic of her 'baby' looking at the Starfighter.
Her car was named,
"Baby Blue" by my dad.
That is a long story! LOL

This is an .....
ASTRO VAN!!!

OPEN HOUSE

The VAB
Verticle Assembly Building
This building is HUGE.
The roof covers 8 acres.
The stripes on the flag, are the size of a car lane.

A reminder of COLUMBIA inside the VAB.
The remains of that shuttle are stored here.

Looking at parts of the new ARES rocket.
This is what is replacing the Shuttles.

We are anticipating the test flight later this year.

This is OPF3
Obital Processing Facility 3.
Can you see where the tail of the shuttle will fit right in?
:)

Bear liked the view from a Fire Truck
at the CCAFS Fire Station

He was all smiles.

Bear and I had our first,
and hopefully LAST visit
in an ambulance. :)

OPEN HOUSE

The Cape Canaveral Lighthouse was open to
visitors. It is on the Air Force Station,
and thus restricted to visitors most of the time.

It is a very pretty lighthouse!

Monday Hymn

Praise Our God
By John Peterson
Praise our God all ye His servants.
Ye that fear Him, small and great;
With a sacrifice of worship
In His glorious presence wait.
Aleluia Alleluia,
Alleluia Praise our God.
Praise our God, all ye His servants,
For his condescending grace,
For His love that brought salvation
To a sinful, fallen race.
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Alleluia Praise our God.
Praise our God, all ye His servants,
Him whom angel hosts acclaim;
Let us join the seraph chorus,
And His worth to all proclaim.
Alleliua, Alleluia,
Alleluia Praise our God.
We sang this song at church last night. I had not heard this Hymn very often, but I like the sound of it. The words are wonderful!! They give a feeling of what eternity will be like, worshipping and praising our God.

Some more photos

Just a few pictues of my brother,
Todd, preaching one Thursday night.
It was his first time preaching in the pulpit.
He was very calm and at ease.

Our family has known for many years
that Todd would preach.
He has a love for the truth of God's Word,
and a desire to share it.

On a sad note, :(
for the first time since Todd and I
started Bible School,
He scored higher on a test than I did.
Bro James gave us the news last night.
Bro James was all smiles!

I am going to have to work HARDER!

:)

I am thankful for a fantastic brother that I am able to go to Bible School with.
God blesses us over and over again, and I am thankful for that, also.

She had 4 hole in ones.

My dad had trouble keeping his ball out of the water.
He had to go and get another ball.
They gave him 2 more... should he need them. :)
