My friend 'Bundy'

My favorite instrument to play is my flute, who I have affectionately named 'BUNDY'. Ok, that is the maker of my flute, but it made it easy to name. So BUNDY, he is.

I didn't realize there were so many different types of flutes. I am, of course, thrilled with my 'Western concert Flute'. But there are also the Alto flute, the bass flute, the Contra-alto flute, the Contrabass flute, the Double contrabass flute, and the Hyperbass flute. Well, there is the Piccolo, also. Piccolo is Italian for 'small'. My mom has been looking for me a Piccolo. Check out Wikipedia for some pictures of these other types of flutes, some would be very hard to carry around with you.

My friend 'Bundy' with our favorite hymn book.
Bundy makes beautiful music,
when I play him correctly.

He looks quite dashing in his case.
His case is also great when he is dashing off with me.

Bundy, how cute! : ) I have a hammer dulcimer affectionatelly dubbed Phoebe. After the songbird girl in "Eight Cousins" by L.M. Alcott. Aren't instruments such fun?

I was wondering if you were going to blog again. Missed seeing you in my google reader!

Hi Marie, I've had Bundy for about 2 & 1/2 years now and he has been a lot of fun to play. I have read "8 Cousins" its a very nice story. I got a 1931 Edition of the book from a flea market a few years ago. My mom named me Aimée after her favorite childhood book..."Little Women". She spelled it the French way because our last name is French.

Is the hammer dulcimer hard to play? A missionary family, the Wheldon, going to MOLDOVA, were at our church early this year. The wife played a hammer dulcimer while the family sang. It was very nice. One of the boys played a smaller duclimer. My mom made a ducilmer when she was in college. It was a simple one. We are looking to buy a dulcimer.

I get really busy sometimes and don't think about blogging.
