Monday's HYMN

This has been a busy fall for us. It has been warm here in Florida, which means the grass
continues to grow, and we continue to mow. :) School keeps us busy, but Todd and I both enjoy it. There are many opportunities for us to help with public ministry through our church, and that keeps us really busy... in a very nice kind of way.

Mom caught me and Todd a couple weeks ago
while we were all out distributing a booklet
that is a sermon our pastor preached called
"The Essesence of Christianity".
We had 40 teams from our church
go out with maps and cover
a certain portion of DeLand, Florida.
Todd and I were a team,
while Mom, Dad and Bear were another team.
It was a beautiful Saturday for this in DeLand.

One of the things I LOVE at our church is that we SING a lot. We sing all the verses of each hymn, and we sing different songs all the time. I have learned so many new songs at this church, and they are all songs from the same hymnal of our old church. It is really nice to sing some of the other songs in the hymnal. Here is one from yesterday:

COME, YE DISCONSOLATE

(Thomas Moore 1826)

Come, ye, disconsolate, where'er ye languish,

Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel.

Here bring your wonded hearts, here tell your anguish;

Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

Joy of the desolate, light of the straying,

Hope of the penitent, fadeless and pure!

Here spaks the Comforter, tenderly saying,

"Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot cure."

Here see the Bread of Life, see waters flowing

Forth from the throne of God, pure from above.

Come to the feast of love; com ever knowing

Earth has no sorrow, but heaven can remove.

I am off to school...
Aimée
