Thursday Treats

Last month, we baked a lot of cookies and other treats. One treat I made a lot of was "Muddy Buddies" or "People Chow". When we were delivering my mother and I were asked the recipe several times. I had made so much of it, that I could recite the recipe with no problem. :) People really enjoy it, and I enjoy making it. My mother and I laughed that we needed one of those mini cement mixers to help us mix it all up.

Here is the recipe we use, except that we double it when we make it:

Muddy Buddies

9 c. of any Chex cereal
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/4 c. butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Pour cereal into large bowl and set aside.

Combine chips, peanut butter and butter in 1 quart microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave on high 1 to 1 1/2 minutes until smooth, stirring after 1 minute.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour chocolate mixture over cereal.
Stirring until all pieces are evenly coated.
Then pour cereal mixture into large bowl,
sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Shake until all pieces are well coated.
Store in sealed container.

Marie,
Sure I can share some with you! We made soooooo much of it. I think we used a total of 26 boxes of CHEX cereal in the month of December making the "Muddy Buddies". I am not really wanting any of it right now, but give me a few months and I might want some then!
