The first weekly quiz is:

1. Who ate locust and wild honey?

2. Who said, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world?"

3. What did John the Baptist say he was unworthy to untie?

4. Who caused John the Baptist to be put in prison by Herod?

5. Was John the Baptist a descendant of Moses or Aaron (direct line)?

New Year and New Adventures

The end of this month, Todd and I will begin a 3 year Bible Institute. We will still live at home, but we will go to school about an hour and a half north of our home. We are looking forward to this new adventure. I am probably looking forward to it more than Todd is. Todd will have to keep his business going while studying and attending classes. We know this will be a challenge for both of us, but it will also be rewarding. Todd and I really love learning from GOD's Word, and this opportunity has been a huge blessing in our lives at this time.

Here are the classes I will be taking:

The FOUR GOSPELS
A SURE FOUNDATION
ISAIAH

Todd will take those and add:

PREPARATION and DELIVERY OF SERMONS

I will not take that one for obvious reasons..LOL

There are several adjustments for our household. My mother will have to learn to load a dishwasher (smiling). I will have to learn to stay awake past 9 pm. I like to go to bed early, and I get up early. We will attend classes from 6 -9 pm. We will probably not be home until nearly 11pm. I hope Todd can stay awake driving. I know I will have to stay awake to make sure he stays awake! I am really looking forward to this!! I am excited to see how GOD will use this in my life for HIS glory.

Hymn of the Week January 12, 2009

I thought I would start sharing some of my favorite Hymns, and what I really like about them. The first one is, "I Could not Do without Thee" by Frances R. Havergal. I like this hymn because the message really speaks to my heart. It reminds me that my Saviour is always there to lead and guide me, even when I do not understand things.
I COULD NOT DO WITHOUT THEE
I could not do without Thee
O Savior of the lost,
Whose precious blood redeemed me
At such tremendous cost.
Thy righteousness, thy pardon
Thy precious blood, must be
My only hope and comfort,
My glory and my plea.

I could not do without Thee,

I cannot stand alone,

I have no strength or goodness,

No wisdom of my own;

But Thou, beloved Savior,

Art all in all to me,

And weakness will be power

If leaning hard on Thee.

I could not do without Thee,
For, oh, the way is long,
And I am often weary,
And sigh replaces song:
How could I do without Thee?
I do not know the way;
Thou knowest, and Thou leadest,
And wilt not let me stray.

I could not do without Thee,
O Jesus, Savior dear;
E’en when my eyes are holden,
I know that Thou art near.
How dreary and how lonely
This changeful life would be,
Without the sweet communion,
The secret rest with Thee!

I could not do without Thee;
No other friend can read
The spirit’s strange deep longings,
Interpreting its need;
No human heart could enter
Each dim recess of mine,
And soothe, and hush, and calm it,
O blessèd Lord, but Thine.

I could not do without Thee,
For years are fleeting fast,
And soon in solemn oneness
The river must be passed;
But Thou wilt never leave me,
And though the waves roll high,
I know Thou wilt be near me,
And whisper, “It is I.”

John 6:20
"But he saith unto them,
It is I;
be not afraid."

In the skies over Orlando.....

Today, we went to Orlando to do a little shopping.
While we were riding to one of our destinations
we saw a skywriter.
We watched as he wrote,
and were so happy to see his work.

This one is hard to read.
After the plane finished JESUS LOVES U,
he dropped down and wrote
U + GOD = and then a smiley face.

My mom especially liked the smiley face.
It reminds her of the son/brother that we lost.
We all think of JAKE when we see a smiley face,
and remember that GOD doesn't do anything that isn't perfect for us.
Psalm 97:6
The heavens declare
his righteousness,
and all the people see his glory.

Sprucing up for Christmas

Today, my mom and I went to have our hair cut. While I was having mine cut, mom was texting her friend, and showing her where we were and what we were doing. LOL My mom and dad think I look like my dad's sister in this pic.

Last week was very busy. My brother and I worked our normal mowing schedule, we also baked a zillion cookies, and then we delivered them all over town. I like baking cookies, but I am glad to have this task behind us.

Wrapping presents is a fun thing at our house. I finally finished wrapping all the ones I had a little bit ago. We do not put NAMES on our presents. We put numbers on each one. Then I make a NUMBER list for everyone and we unwrap those presents that match numbers on the list. It may or may not be your present you unwrap. We have found this is a fun way to spend Christmas morning, and afternoon, and possibly the evening. My mom has a way of wrapping odd gifts, things one doesn't think of as a gift, but in our family IT WORKS. Sometimes I wrap things for myself. The rule is.. if ONE person in our family hasn't seen it, you can wrap it..and put a number on it, and put it under (or around) the tree.

I really like Christmas. My mom was sick on Christmas day in 1988. She spent that day..and several days after thinking she had the flu but she had ME! :) I am named after 2 of my mom's favorite things: 1. Aimée from LITTLE WOMEN,her favorite childhood book. 2. Noelle because she was pregnant with me at Christmas and she loves Christmas.

My name, Aimée, spelled the French way means.. I LOVE, and Noelle...means Christmas. So, my name means I LOVE CHRISTMAS.

I really do love Christmas!!

How I spent my Thursday Night

We are making bag holders for Todd's Mowing Customers. Mom is using a machine to embroider Todd's business name along with his phone number on each bag. There are a lot of bags! Once the bags are finished, we are putting in baked treats. Todd and I will deliver all the bags next week. We have fun doing this.

Here I am at my serger finishing off the edges of the bags.
Tomorrow, either mom or I will make casings.
One casing on the bottom to feed elastic through,
and one on the top to that will remain flat.
I am smiling here, but if you notice the thread
on the far left side.. is my bottom looper thread,
and it is almost out.
I didn't pay attention, and it ran out. :(
It took me and mom to get the machine rethreaded.

My serious sewing look. ;)
