Keeping Busy

In the summertime, I stay very busy. I voluntarily help my brother with his lawn service. In other words, I am not a paid employee. (smiling) However, I am wonderfully rewarded by both my brother and my parents. I lack for nothing. For the record: I do not plan on doing lawn service my entire life. :) I do desire to serve GOD faithfully, and working with my brother is currently what GOD has for me. But I am excited to see what else He will bring into my life.

In my spare moments this last month, I am not really sure I have had any spare moments, I had some cross stitching projects to do. My mom and I are going to a bridal shower this Friday. Here are a couple things I have made in the last couple of weeks, during my non lawn service times. :)

Bookmarks for the couple.
There is more on the bottom,
but didn't want to put their whole names on here.

A wedding sampler pillow.
I really enjoy making things like this.
I hope the new bride will enjoy, also.

Long time no post

June was a busy month here. It rains, grass grows, then it rains, and the grass grows. Then we have no rain, it gets really hot and the grass fries. Then it rains again, and the grass grows. Now in between all this...WE MOW, and then we MOW, and we keep on MOWING. This is a good thing. God has blessed Todd's business, we are not wanting for work. Todd works 6 days a week. I get a few days off here and there. We want for sleep, but never for work. :)

In June, we celebrated a car milestone, a Bear Cub's 11th birthday, I had my hair cut, swam in the pool, I have done some sewing and cross stitching, even did a few loads of laundry and washed a dish or two. I got a new laptop. I have played my flute, and games with Bear.
I have stayed up late way too many nights.

We are looking forward to JULY. My mother is getting a new insulin pump. She is really excited.. it will be a PINK one. Her current pump has a crack in it, and has needed to upgrade the one she has. We are all excited for her. Her new pump will be the ANIMAS PING. We get excited about diabetic things here. LOL :)

Until next time.................

Aimée Noelle... the sleepy one heading off to bed now

Boys and Trucks

Why is it that the 11 year old gets to sit in the driver's seat of the TRUCK?
I don't get this privilege.
Ahhhhh he is helping Todd check to make sure the trailer lights are working!
He doesn't get to drive... whew!
Am I seriously going to ride with Todd driving??
He looks way too tired to drive!

Bear is serious about driving the truck.
Bear has wanted to drive since he was 3.

Todd and Katy (did)

The other morning, a poor helpless bug got in Todd's way.
He decided to rescue 'Katy' before she became a victim of
one of Todd's mower tires.

THE MIDNIGHT PARTY

My mother is known for keeping us on our toes, and guessing what she will be up to next.
Bear's 'party' began at MIDNIGHT. Mother, Dad and I went into the boys' room. We turned on the light, and began singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY. My mother put the camera up over the top bunk to capture Bear's face.

Not quite sure what is happening....
He is on the floor, but still not sure what is up.

It didn't take him long to wake up and get into the swing
of unwrapping presents, eating cake and ice cream, and then heading back to bed.

Bear also likes MONSTER TRUCKs.

It was a fun party at Midnight, we were all back in bed by 1 am.

Bear's Birthday Trip

Our first trip to Fantasy of Flight was for my
9th Birthday in 1998. Bear was just 6 weeks old at the time.
He cried the whole ride over to Polk County. But he happily slept in the stroller
while we went through the exhibits.
This year, my mother decided that it was time for Bear to have his Birthday Trip
to Fantasy of Flight. Bear loves all things PLANES.
He had a really nice time at Fantasy of Flight.

The usual 'we three kids' pose. LOL
About to embark on our adventure into the beginnings of Flight.

My favorite little brother.

and my favorite BIG brother.

Bear's Birthday Trip

Join us in a Corsair simulator???
The 'crew' of the USS YORKTOWN
awaiting your command, mother.

Which one of us kids have made dad mad?? LOL

;)
Hmmm a man with his own balloon.
Now, that could be a possibility!!!

Bear in a hot air balloon simulator.

If it flies, HE LOVES IT.

Bear's Birthday Trip

Bear at the crossroads.
Bear with a German soldier talking on a radio in a bunker.
Bear with a WW2 era plane.

Todd thinking this isn't going to be like driving his
4X4 truck.

One of the display planes.

Driving may not be my forté

So, I have decided to
FLY!!!

Me, in the cockpit.
Hey, look...Bear wants to FLY with me!!
Yes, I believe that FLYING is for me!

Don't I look at ease in the cockpit?

Hmm well, I felt fine in the little simulator.

200,000 miles

In 1994, our family adopted our first brand new car. My father named him BABY BLUE.
He is a Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon with all the bells and whistles that they offered in 1994. Yes, we really needed those heated side mirrors here in Florida. ;) But we have enjoyed the leather seats, and the vista roof. (My mother called this our Planetarium) Not to mention the LT1 performance motor that is under the hood. We have been on many fun family trips in Baby Blue. We have been to Indiana and all the way to Delaware. We have been to Williamsburg, VA for Christmas, to LOOK OUT Mountain, TN, to Greenville, SC, to Savannah, GA...and many parts in between! Baby Blue and I have spent many hours together reading. I have yet to master the 'driving' part with him, but I am sure that is just around the corner...if I don't take it too sharply. ;)

In June, Baby Blue marked a Milestone. See my father talked my mother into buying this car with a promise to her that it would last us 20 years. My mother is holding my father to his promise. :) We now have 200,000 miles on Baby Blue. God has kept it running (thanks to dad who is a trained auto mechanic), we have never broken down anywhere, it is always ready for us to go in.

In honor of turning 200,000 miles... Baby Blue took us to
Steak N Shake on Merritt Island, one evening. ;)

We took pictures of the odometer 'flipping'.
My mother allowed Todd to drive after the 'flip',
he was happy to start the next 100,000 miles!
I, of course, was seated in my spot of 14 1/2 years
directly behind the driver's seat. Really, it seems like
with all that experience behind the driver's seat....
I should be an expert... don't you think???

300,000 miles HERE WE COME!!!

FUTURE BABY BLUE DRIVER

JENGA

A little round of Jenga with Bear.
Sometimes we do really good.

It requires all of Bear's concentration.

Rosebud Update

Rosebud is definitely a 'blonde',
but in a very nice way!
She loves to run at night.

"Are you looking at me?"

"It is a little cramped in here."

"Won't you join me for a spin??"
